Hi, I recently purchased an Anthias and am having trouble enticing it to eat. Whenever I'm in the room it gets spooked and hides and isn't interested in food. When I'm not there, I've spied that he is swimming around. I suspect he will eat if he is swimming around and I did check that he was eating at the LFS. I don't have an automatic feeder, any practical suggestions? Its been 3 days and I'm concerned.

approach the tank slowly and don't make any jerky movements, feed a high quality food like LRS Fish Frenzy to get them attracted and make sure you move VERY slow I also think Anthias feel better when there is more than 1 in the tank?

What type of anthias? Many species do better with other outgoing peaceful fish.

High flow in the top 1/3 of the tank also helps.

Frozen food fed in high flow elicits a feeding response in most cases.
