Hello!
Unfortunately my living circumstances are changing and I'm thinking about selling my tank. Some info: I bought this tank secondhand around 2016. I had an alk crash about 2 years ago and haven't been able to get things quite right since, so there's a bit of cyano, some dead coral skeletons, some dead plugs scattered in the rocks. The fish and remaining corals are doing well though. I'm going to break down the tank starting with the fish and corals, along with spare equipment. Once the fish and corals are gone, I'll sell off the live rock and pumps/equipment, and then the tank itself. If the price on something is low, I might say you can only buy it with something else. I don't want to schedule someone coming over to my house and lock my pets away for $10, sorry! Also, please bring your own bags/containers.
Let's start with what's for sale right now:
Red and green rhodactis mushrooms: asking $10 per head, rounding down a bit depending on the size of the rock. There are 4 rocks. The tongan branch on the right has about 15 heads, I'm asking $140. The tongan branch on the left has between just under 30 heads, it's hard to count them exactly. Asking $250. Next are the 2 flat rocks in the back, the right side has about 15 and I'm asking $140 for that as well. Left side has about 23, I'm asking $200. There are 3 on a shell, asking $30 for that, and 4 scattered around on the sand bed, $10 each (or $5 if you're picking up a one of the large rocks). I'll let you confirm the number of heads when you come to pick up, if the count is no longer accurate (some heads die off or something) we can renegotiate.
ardware.
Photosynthetic Gorgonia, large. Had this almost as long as the tank, seems to thrive. I've fragged it a few times as well. $30.
Green Ricordea: Just the one, $10, only available if you're buying something larger.
Rock anenome: $20. Should still be attached to the bit of rubble it was on when I got it. If there's interest I'll double check that, but I don't want to disturb it right now.
Pagoda coral frag: 90% sure it's a green pagoda cup, but not 100%. Asking $10. You'll have to buy it with something else though. Will update with pictures later
Next are my fish. First up is my favorite fish ever, a Marine Comet (known as a Marine Betta as well). I got this guy about a month after I got the tank and he's been with me through thick and thin. He's probably the only reason I haven't sold this tank already. At first I didn't see him for months, I thought he died. Then I saw a peek every now and again. Now he comes out in broad daylight and flashes his magnificant fins with the subtle blue hue around the edges. He eats both frozen food (out of a turkey baster) and will pluck frozen food or flakes out of the water column on occasion. Asking $50, but will only sell if you promise to keep him in at least a 75 gallon with plenty of rockwork. He will likely be shy for a while after moving, he disappeared for a week after I rearranged my rocks last time.
And my dwarf fuzzy lionfish. He eats flake off the tops of the water or in the water column (hit and miss tbh), and he'll eat frozen food off of tongs (he'll actually try to deepthroat the tongs, but if you use the tongs to let it go in front of his face he'll gobble it right up). Warning: he will often try to rub on you if your hand is in the tank, I think it's affection but I'd recommend wearing gloves when working. $40. Will give you the tongs I use to feed him.
Blue spot puffer. Well behaved, doesn't nip any of the fish. Follows me around the tank, nice guy. $20.
Yellow tang, good eater, no behavioral problems. $30. Will update with picture later
3 engineer gobies. Good guys, no signs that they're breeding pairs. Will destroy your sand bed, make sure your rock is stable. They're almost as old as the tank. Asking $20 for the lot (free if you buy $100 or more worth of coral, if you want them).
An SCA-302 180 Gallon Protein Skimmer with a minor crack in it that doesn't affect functioning (design flaw, if you screw the intake valve in just a little too tight it cracks, it's noted in the amazon reviews). Works well, tested it about a year ago and it was still fine. I used it for a while, but was having trouble dialing it in. It'd work perfectly for about 2 weeks, then randomly overflow, might've been some of my corals spawning or something since it was pretty regular. Asking $80
An old octopus reef skimmer. Bought this from a used equipment sales guy at a coral show, I have no idea what model it is. It worked fantastically for a while, but the pump failed and I never got around to replacing it. Don't know if the pump is broken or just the impeller. Should be fine with a new pump if you feel like messing with it, asking $30.
Now onto the rock: Asking $1.50 per pound, rounded down to the nearest dollar. Bring your own container and some rags or paper towels to keep it damp during transport. I have roughly 200 pounds of live rock, about 30 pounds of it is ready to go now with the rest available once the fish have been rehomed. I haven't seen any aiptasia in ages. There are some stomatella snails and plenty of asterina stars. Some minor nuisance algae or cyano, I'll scrub what I can off before selling.
These are things I'm selling after the livestock is gone:
Maxspect XF-150 50W Gyre Cost $270 new, still works great, will sell for $125. Comes with original tin, manual, replacement parts etc. Will run it in a diluted vinegar bath for a little bit and scrub it clean before selling.
Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED Light, 48 to 60-Inch 2 of them, 4 years old, asking $40 each or $60 for both. Each comes with a little remote control.
Sea & Marine Fluval Bluetooth Spectrum Light LED (36" - 48") only a few months old, $100. Bluetooth control only, I find the app works well on android.
Finnex digital controllers (HMX models, I believe) with LED touch display. 150 watt and 300 watt, both less than 6 months old. Asking $20 and $25, respectively, or the pair for $40.
The tank + stand + sump: Tank is 100g rimless, it's pretty old but no signs of failure. I believe it's custom. Comes with a solid wood stand. The stand should probably be repainted at least, and the doors for it need new hinges. The only significant blemish I see is a chip missing near the top above the water level (pictured). Sump is a 3 section 40g breeder and with a refugium section. I had to cut the plumbing in order to transport the stand the first time, and patch it after. We'll have to do the same again. Also comes with the return pump, which is between 800 and 1200 gph (I honestly forget). IMPORTANT NOTE: The tank is in the basement. It's heavy. I have no interest in attempting to lift it and will not help you. Bring a friend or hire some movers. I'll clear the way, clean the tank out and make it as easy as possible to move, but I am not going to hurt my back trying to lift the thing a second time. Asking $200 obo. Open to negotiating a bundle deal if you buy the tank with rock or other equipment
