Getting Rid Of Precipitation Build In Sump

Could of things about this. Is it dangerous. I noticed a build up of goo in my sump, started to remove it with a sieve but it’s getting into display tank. What’s the best way to remove it? And will my fish and corals be ok? #reefsqaud

Actually maybe this is not precip build up. I looked at another thread and they look like little sponges
