GFCI yes, GFCI tripping now and then for no obvious reason, no!

So the common advice is to use GFCI outlets, idea being, no fried reefers.

While I appreciate staying out of the frier just as much as the next person, my GFCI tripped last night. For no apparent reason. In fact, nothing is "actually" running yet (still building), but the light wouldn't go on when I turned the kessil intensity dial... because the power was cut by the GFCI.

This is not uncommon in my experience with GFCI outlets, etc. Some worse than others, because of quantum mechanics, old wiring, cosmic rays, who knows. They trip when there's no obvious need or reason for them to do that- at least, it happens in a way that doesn't save any lives.

How do people deal with this?

Return pump on separate circuit would hopefully keep everything alive until problem was realized and corrected

Get a new Gfci. Just like breakers, they go bad as the metal repeatedly heats over time. They shouldn’t just trip when theyre new unless you are overloading them or it’s super humid.

I've been running mine for over a year and the gfci hasn't tripped even once. Maybe yours needs to be replaced?
