I am out of room in my Fluval Evo 13.5 - I currently stick my GFO bag in the compartment with pump since that gets most flow probably.

So I am looking at all the turbulence in the middle of the stock skimmer & wondered---"hey what if I stuck the bag there?!" Definitely more water movement!

Has anyone done that and any feedback......?
Thanks!

Have never tried that and I'm not familiar with your skimmer, but the compartment with the swirling is generally used to create and contain the bubbles necessary for the skimmer to operate. I'm guessing that a bag of GFO in there would alter or block the current and the skimmer would not operate very efficiently. You could always just drop the bag in for a few minutes and see what happens to your bubble production.

i would guess it'll adversely affect the skimmers ability to produce. personally i would consider adding a reactor which can be mounted outside and would upgrade your system.
