Hi

I recently got my hands on some chaeto so picked up some lights with the intention of running macro algae in a refugium.

I was away for a bit and when I came back and inspected my sump the chaeto is pretty much gone and it's totally overgrown with gha and bubble algae.

My DT is clean, no algae.

So my question is... Does this matter? If I allow it to grow and harvest it regularly it should still reminds nutrients right?
Are there any drawbacks or risks to this?

Cheers
Captain

The algae can find its way into your display over time. If you have a good group of hungry fish and inverts they might not let it grow in the DT
