Hi,

Got my P4 a few weeks ago (love the thing) and recently bought a ph/temp expansion card. I wanted a second temp probe in the tank. This probe reads 1.3C higher than the other. I tried switching between probes, and the wrong reading follows the expansion card.

Is there fw here that needs updating as well?
I put the card in the right most slot (only card installed)

Thanks

They are not. But when I switch the probes among the P4 and the expansion card, the bad reading is now the other probe (the one in the sump). So it definitely follows the card.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way you just described it, it seems to follow the probe.

I probably wasn't clear:

# 1st probe is connected to P4. Monitors sump. Its 26.1C
# 2nd probe is connected to expansion card. Monitors tank. Its 27.3C

When I switch the probes, so the sump probe is connected to the expansion card and the tank probe to the P4 (ie tank reading) it reverses:

# Sump is now 27.xC
# Tank is 26.xC

So for the 'tank' probe, now connected to the P4, reads correctly, 26C

In other words, the probes can read the correct temp (it is 26.1C). But depending on where its connected, it goes up by +1C

Interesting -55 reading on tank temp. I moved the card to the other slot.

You need to put both probes side by side in the same area. Be it the tank or the sump.
The temp is following the probe.
Probe 1 in sump and it's reading 26. Tank is reading 27
You switch Probe 1 (which was reading 26 and the tank was 27) to the tank, and now its reading 26 where it was reading 27. If it was the card, the sump and tank temps wouldn't change.

Ok that was just a temp glitch. But still 1C wrong based on whether probe is connected to p4 or expansion card

Its because I'm an idiot at explaining it :) I'm talking about the placement of the probes. Anyway, put them within 1cm (in the sump):

Then I moved the probes between p4 and expansion card and its the same:

Double-check the probe settings for the add-in card one, is there any type of compensation option listed?

I don't see any compensation being possible. Addon card is listed as ph/temp and looks correct. Temp probe connected to correct port (tried the other to be sure and it shows up under PH). Put a ticket in with GHL so lets see.

GHL responded quickly. Enable expert mode, click fix sensor and done. Working perfect. Good stuff.

Figured it would be something like that, or a toggle, etc.
