Dave’s new friend is Toast, a yellow warty frog fish. He is a bit smaller than Dave, but they get along really well. Weird thing is, when I bought him, I didn’t get a sponge for him. Figured I’d grab something later. Well, he really likes my Forrest fire digy. And what I mean by that is, if he isn’t hiding under his favorite rock, he is perched up on this guy. I think toast is gonna be red soon.

Cool Tank!! i have 2 questions ..

1. What was the company that made that stand? do they do any custom ?/?

2. I see your radion is set pretty high unlike the RMS mounts that sit like under 9 inches above the tank .. once that high do you think one xr30 has enough spread or do you still like having 3 xr15 radions.. Im thinking about 2 xr15 but thinking if i mount it high enough i can do away with the spread of 1 - xr30.

1. I made the stand my self out of butcher block and extruded aluminum. It’s all custom designed and DIY.

2. The radions are the spec’d 7.5 inches above the tank (top of glass to LEDs). I used to only have two XR15’s and the corners were dark. I think 1 XR30 on a 36” tank isn’t enough and the corners are gonna be dark. Unless you go really high up and crank it to 100%. Mine only run at 35% max right now.

Custom probe and water level sensor holder. The way I have the lift system working, there is a shelf that moves up and down by the back of the tank. So I can’t have any of the magnetic mounts back there. I made this guy to sit inside the rear overflow of the tank.

Poor toast died. I fed the tank and he literally ate everything. Few minutes later he was dead. Poor guy, pretty bummed.
