Hello Aquarium Enthusiasts!

I am thrilled to announce the start of a build thread for my new aquarium. I'm happy to have chosen my dream tank from @Joe Glass Cages to replaced my previous FijiCube tank. This upgrade has been a dream come true, and I owe a huge thank you to @Bulk Reef Supply and Joe for their invaluable guidance and support throughout this journey.

In this thread, I will detail the process of transitioning to the new tank, highlighting how I'm repurposing much of my existing equipment while also integrating key upgrades with the support of BRS. I believe this will not only enhance the environment for my aquatic friends but also provide a more efficient and aesthetically pleasing setup.

Stay tuned for updates, photos, and tips as I embark on this exciting project. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome! Check out my Instagram account for more content @ JC.Reef

Looking good! I’ll be following. I’ve actually been thinking about ordering a similar sized tank from Joe. I’m another victim of FijiCube who is looking a replacement. I saw your original FijiCube 76 build thread, but did not heed your warnings! ‍♂️

That’s unfortunate that you also had a bad experience with Fiji Cube. I hope others see our threads and stay away from this company.

Keep an eye out on my build, and hopefully you decide to purchase a tank from Joe :winking-face:

Opting for violet or purple PVC, as some might see it. This was a deeply personal choice, as it was my moms favorite color. This color holds a special place in my heart, and by incorporating it into my tank, it feels like I have a piece of her with me.

I decided to run a single return line because I wouldn't be able to connect the unions once the stand and tank are leveled in their final spot. That side of the tank is going to be sitting in the corner of my living room, and how in the world would I be able to connect those unions? Because I decided to run one return, I had to plan for optimal water movement in the main display. I will be utilizing a single RFG, along with two MP 40s and an AI Orbit 2. I plan to add a second RFG @Vivid Creative Aquatics with a Y-splitter for dual output :smirking-face:

Following!

I have the same sump but I notice that yours has what looks like four 1” holes between the filter sock and sump chambers. Did you add these? Was it to increase flow, reduce noise, something else?

I also really like the purple PVC. I guess I may have missed where you purchased that from.

Sorry about that. I purchased my purple PVC from @Bulk Reef Supply and @AquariumSpecialty. BRS had a good sale on all-color PVC, and I was able to pick up most of my stuff for a great price. The rest came from Aquarium Specialty.

Oh yes, I did add those four holes for a particular reason. On my old build, I was running filter floss, and every time it got dirty, the water in that area would rise all the way to the top until the water cascaded down the emergency openings right on top. As soon as I removed the dirty filter, the extra water would raise the last two chambers on the sump and sometimes the skimmer area. I knew I had to fix this problem for my next build. Now, when the filter floss gets dirty, the water will come out through those four holes.

Following! Love the purple!
Thank you! I'm happy how it came out.

Awesome tank! A lot of thought put into it, can't wait to see it come alive. Similar dimensions to my upcoming upgrade (48x20x20).
Nice! Are you going to do a build thread?

Awesome build!
Thank you!

Following along! This looks like it is going to be a fun build to follow!
Thanks! Hopefully it turns out to be a good build.
