Im curious Glenn why you dont use calcium hydroxide instead of calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate?

There are a few reasons for that.
1- Because you can never maintain a SPS tank with a consumption of 4,85dkh /per day
with only a CaOH solution. Due to the limited solubility of this product. if you try to do that your salinity will drop and PH will get through the roof.
3- you can't controle KH and Ca separately with only CaOH, therefore lose control over your tank parameters.

CaOH may be usefull for tanks with low SPS population/growth therefore low alk/Ca consumption

Glenn, tanks are looking great as usual!

I would really love to run DSR on my upcoming 1400L and 1000L systems. The alk/Ca consumption will be quite large in both. Any updates on DSR retailers in the US?

I don't know about any retailers, because all is done by distributors.
Reef Aquaria Design in ft. Lauderdal has been appointed to do the distribution in the USA.
Best is to give them a call
