There are a few reasons for that.
1- Because you can never maintain a SPS tank with a consumption of 4,85dkh /per day
with only a CaOH solution. Due to the limited solubility of this product. if you try to do that your salinity will drop and PH will get through the roof.
3- you can't controle KH and Ca separately with only CaOH, therefore lose control over your tank parameters.

CaOH may be usefull for tanks with low SPS population/growth therefore low alk/Ca consumption
Is this true when mixing your CaOH with vinegar?

Somehow i missed this posting.

Thanks m8
I don't know about any retailers, because all is done by distributors.
Reef Aquaria Design in ft. Lauderdal has been appointed to do the distribution in the USA.
Best is to give them a call

I mentioned this in another thread but wanted to add it here as well.... Deltec is distributing the EZ DSR products in the US now, their contact info is below. Very happy to avoid the cost of overseas shipments. :) They will have a sales website up soon.

Can i use an Oxydator to my dsr reef aquarium; When i started dsr products and stop wc to my aquarium, my water is little more yellow. I can see that only when i use white backet. Power filter is working well, but i think i need stronger skimming. Ozone, oxydator or carbon with dsr products; (The truth is that i am afraid using ozone) Thanks

After the total rescape i introduced a few new species in my EZ550reef.
A good friend took a reefing sabatical and donated all his corals. I promised him that i would take good care of them. if he re-enter the hobby he can pickup all his corals.

So you see not everyone leaf the hobby due too many failure. Some just want to take a break.

The combination EZCarbon and Powerfilter produces Crystal clear water. The trick is to leaf the powerfilter produce microbubble for a day before replacing the filterwool.

Ozone attached to a redox controller works just fine

I use the ez products but i use seperate carbon and Fe trace, for now. Also i am adding PO4,more magnesium , little more potassium and Sr. I cant increase eztrace because my B is close to 7. All my parameters are fine Except Iodine... In 400lt reef mix tank idose 1.5ml of I2 every day (I think in my tank 3ml is max per day)for almost 2 months now but i cant get any reading to salifert test. Test is ok i assume when testing with dsr reference. I cant find to read something more for I2.What i am advised to do? Thanks

Please use this topic for DSR questions:

Can you share some more information about the measurements, dosings and testkits?
https://aquariumstats.com. To avoid having to keep asking the same questions, it is best to use aquarium stats to share information in a UNIFORME manner. This gives us a complete picture of aquarium, used technics, water values and dosages. Always places a clear overview photo (with white light) of: 1- The aquarium 2- the problem 3- the sump and used technics. Complete and structured information provided provides better advice. People are also more inclined to respond.

Hi Glenn! Thanks for sharing.
I use a modified system based on your no water change method.
First I want to say thank you for your method and products.
I run a modified EZ system.
Carx with tunze media.
I dose your EZ Trace along with esv strontium and follow your parameters. Have not dosed any carbon yet.
My growth rates are great and colors are great.
I take alot of abuse from the "no water changes are not possible crowd".
But many have asked alot of questions about my tank.
I ran it for 1.5 years on my nano and now my 120 is only 8 months old.
I have high hopes for this tank in the comming years.
Thanks again for all you have done for the hobby.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the good works.

It's a learning proces which take time.
It took me 8 years to come up with some real result and another another 8 years to be where i am now.
I can only say I have all the fun that came with it.
No hurry and patience is what make the real reefers last.
