Hi everyone,

Going fallow for Ich for first time, and not sure what to run in the main tank.

The tank is 4 months old with mix mostly of LPS and montiporas, with nitrates 10-25, and phosphate typically around 0.25. Good amount of GHA was present and several montiporas were unhappy. Just before Ich started, started rowaphos in reactor (50g for ~55g total volume), which quickly brought phosphates close to 0 by salifert testing. Montis became much happier over just a few days.

So I am not sure if I should continue running skimmer and the rowaphos. Main concern is stripping the tank too low and having to battle Dinos. I was thinking of leaving the skimmer on, taking off the rowaphos, and then testing intermittently. If phosphates come back up, start it again. I am planning on feeding the tank with mysis or reef roids 1-2x/week.

What do you think? Thanks!

I would just turn them off and keep your clean up crew fed (along with corals). If waste products become too high then resume one of the two.
