Start it up a little higher, but you can lower then down pretty far once you get everything acclimated. I lower my lights down until I am happy with the spill... some of them are pretty close.

I was thinking about starting them around 10 or 12 inches then slowly lowering them my LEDs aren't turned up very high

I keep losing sps everytime I put one in the tank it dies within about 2 weeks. All my parameters are good and no swings so I'm thinking it's the lights that's why I'm going to try t5s.

I can never seem to keep my phosphates stable I have a reactor that a run carbon in and whenever I ran it mixed with gfo it would bottom my phosphates out everytime. I have 11 fish in the tank and it's about 10 months old in the beginning I had to dose phosphates Nd nitrates and the corals were growing great now everything has completely stopped for the last couple of months. I was using nopox for about the last 3 weeks and it was working good but I stopped because I I've came home twice and my skimmer was overflowed out of nowhere

The tank will mature with time, a brown coral is better than a dead coral. It has taken me months to peg phosphates at the sps is happy around .10 and 5 nitrates.

Is the coral losing tissue? Turning white?

Personally I would stop GFO and NOPOX and just go back to basics, watch your feeding and ensure your skimmer is working effectively along with weekly water changes

Have you measured par? And are you frequently changing your spectrum and intensity? It has been well established those lights can grow sps if used correctly. If the lights are indeed the culprit, I’d sooner say it is in the application of the product. Not the product itself

Did you start with dry or live rock? Also switched to a sunpower thinking that was the issue and it was not.
