From what I've been reading it's on par with dimensions. When it comes to the thickness when I've looked at a lot of the aquariums that are sold being acrylic they're usually 1/2 unless they get over 200 gallons or so but I would like some experienced aquarium Builders to chime in with their thoughts. I'll most likely be going with a hundred to a hundred and fifty gallon

Depends on how high and the bracing at the top. How much deflection you want to put up with. I dont like any.
I built my own acrylic tank. Sort of a cube. 5x5x3h
If you read my thread you can see how I did it.

Bottom = 27 " x 27"
Front = 27 " x 29 1/2"
Back = 27 " x 29 1/2"
2 Sides = 29 1/2 " x 26"
Top Front/Back brace = 26 " x 2"
Top Sides brace = 26 " x 2"

I think I’ll go 3/4 but most use 1/2 but the cost is much higher. With bracing I think it should be ok with 1/2
