My tank is still young, less than a year old, so I was hesitant to purchase a goni because I'd heard how fickle they can be. I fell in love with this little frag though and so far so good, he seems happy in my tank.

Hopefully he'll grow to be a monster like some I've seen in this thread! 159EB2F0-CDE6-4FF2-9975-FF152D74595C.jpeg

That looks just like mine as a frag. If it does grow well, say good bye to those shrooms and blastos, also just like mine....

Bought these 2 at reef dreams in March. The green one was one frag but broke in half when I removed it from the plug...accidental frag. Looking for a purple/blue one to add to that rock and make a gonnie garden.

Can anyone help? I had a tiny neon green flower pot, we place it high in the tank with high light and flow. It look about two weeks to open but then it did and grew well! Was beautiful for 6 months. Then the star polyps started to grow to close so we decided to relocate the flowerpot away from the star polyps with same light and flow but we accidentally touched it when we were removing it from the rock. Now it all died. We are super sad. We want to buy another any suggestions for their care. Thought we were doing the right thing moving it. We moved it when the lights went down so it was closed. Afraid we will hurt another coral. We do have a red one also but it is not growing but is stable.
Thank you for any advice.

Guys I bought a red goni frag last week from my LFS hasn't opened up at all since it's been in... I'm using 1 radion xr30 g4 pro on a reefer 250 and using the coral lab preset which is on 57% intensity and 1 mp40 QD which I'm also using the preset that was already on there..

First placement was basically in the middle of sand bed directly under the light as I've read they like strong lighting but I dont think this is the case so I've now moved it far back left of tank so its not directly under the light.

Any help would be much appreciated

I bought a new green one a few weeks ago and it did the same thing didn’t open for days and then only slightly. My LFS owner told me they go through a stress period. I would leave it alone. My do well under AI lights. And now is open. Just give it time. The green one is low in the tank. My last green one was up really high both did well. I have a red one too also in the middle of the tank. Took a month or so for this one to start branching out and is growing slower. We tried to move our other green one and my husband accidentally touched it and it died. We were moving it because of some star polyps that were too close. It had really grown so I’m so sad we moved it and killed it. I think these are my new favorite corals.
