Good afternoon R2R

Just yesterday I melted a cube of Reef nutrition food I got from my Local FS I noticed some critters on my glass. I have not seen them before , and there was quite a few. I’m hoping these are good for my tank and not a pest problem. Currently my tank is going through Fallow period (been 8 days) because I had some Marine velvet (I know sad lost 70% of my fish)

anyways If anyone can let me know if this some good critters to have or should I be worried ?

best pics I could get on my iPhone 11 (but I edited exposure for you to see )

to me they look like little centipedes with clear white body and very very tiny

Also after cleaning the glass with a magnetic cleaner and turning my power head on , I didn’t see them stuck to the glass very much for the rest of the day but I know they in my tank

It's hard to see the legs in your pic. Does it look like this?

If so, they are munnid isopods. They are harmless and fish will gobble them up.

Idk guys after looking at my tank , I mean they are all over the glass , I’m talking hundred of them .. small but I can still see them move around. This is the first time seeing this many little critters in 6 months? Maybe I do have a pest problem , any recommendations on how to get RID of them ? I feel like there is way to many than my tank needs ?

I would love to have that problem. I can't keep them in my display tank. My fish wipe them out. Free food!

They're not a problem. They are actually beneficial. They will eat algae off your glass, which is why you didn't see them for a while after you cleaned it.

They'll regulate their numbers on their own based upon the food supply. And once you reintroduce fish to your tank, they'll probably disappear within days. If not, add a 6-line wrasse. That will clear them out for certain.

Ahhh makes complete sense now why they are on the bottom and corners of my glass where the algae is most.

Well I’m very glad to know it’s a good thing to have and not yet another problem lol

within 60 days I’ll have my fish put back in along with a few more additions, and per your recommendation I’ll look into a six line wrasse.

thank you R2R for your help
