Sounds like an excellent idea to set up for worry free, automated levels. Especially the ones we chase as much as Ca and dKh.Thanks Rich,
The Alkatronic is an alk monitor and can control alk too. It has a built in pump that can dose alk and I'm trying to find out if Kalk is a possibility too. It also has a WIFI plug that can turn off a calcium reactor's feed pump if your alk climbs to a certain set point and will turn it back on when your alk lowers.
My cal reactor keeps things very stable including cal and mag. The mag holds at about 1400 because we use ZeoMag in the cal reactor.
I really want it for monitor purposes, but it will be nice to flick it into control mode when we're out of town.
It would be nice to be able to "tune down" the cal reactor and let the Alkatronic dose (pick up the slack with) Kalk for a higher ph...
I think it can test alk from 2 to 12 times a day, but I will only focus on one reading at the same time each day.
It does show a graph like Apex does with a ph probe inside a cal reactor.
I'm not really interested in cal or mag, and with Trident, you'll have to buy all three reagents in a three pack.
Plus... if my Apex breaks the Alkatronic will help me keep the cal reactor tuned in, until the Apex has been fixed.
That's about it...
The fact it has an integrated monitoring system is also a nice point of reference to compare with actual testing.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
