Update:

Missing fish:
1) Blue Streak Wrasse / Carpet Dove... :(
2) Tiny Caribbean Cow / Was getting stuck in Gyre when we cranked up the flow for the Achilles tang. Took him back to the Aquatic Critter.

Have been blind dosing the Red Sea colors, 2ml of each, five days a week over the last month.
Reef looks good and will stay the coarse.

Ran out of the DD Pro Mag salt mix. Marine Depot was running a 10% off Father's sale and saw that I had over $100 in MD points.
So tossed in the PM1 module and 6 foot long aquabus cable into the cart with the salt mix.

And picked up this BNC cable from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078SNS7C6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope to get the Alka-T's readings to Apex Fusion over the weekend.

The S-Series huge coast to coast overflow is covered in aiptasia.... ;Wideyed
Torn between Algae Barn's peppermint shrimp or to bring Ryan's nudi's back in. There are two 5oogph re-circ. pumps in there.

Would ya'll try the peppermint first, inside the overflow?
Never tried peppermints, but we can keep those contained.

Thanks, Freddie
Hey Freddie...I ve done them I my overflow ..they made short work of the small ones but left the big ones alone ..plus they tend too end up in the sump ...in the end I just drained my overflow and scraped them and sucked them out ....I wouldn't put peppermint shrimps in my display if you've got any rock flower anemones either .....

Thanks Mack,

I might try @SPR1968 way (on the overflow) to start things off, since he does have a S 650.

We have a few big ones in the display and thinking that @mta_morrow F Aiptasia could be the right call for some of those.

End the end think the berghia nudibranch will be needed to really finish up the display.

Thanks for all the options... :)

It's been awhile, Mack
How have you been doing?

Thanks so much for the Berghia article Freddie. What a sigh of relief and a wealth of information in your write up.

And Thanks for giving me the confidence boost I needed. I'm expecting my Secret Ap Task force to arrive within 2 weeks or so.

Your Welcome, Rich

Thinking they will be needed again, over here too.

Already got Ryan at Salty Underground on standby... :)

A shot from yesterday evening, of the Alkatronic's readings... (6/17 - 6/21)
Blue dots show it's "Action Mode" driving the cal reactor.

MVIMG_20190621_172729.jpg

Keeping the alk super tight.

We also installed the PM1 module so I'm able to see the readings in Apex Fusion now.

Really cool Freddie!

Have you tried a filefish? Peppermints never worked for me but the filefish was wonderful, of course he also ate my zoas hahaha but did come back after a few weeks.

Yeah, Pancho
I have thought about a filefish and (lol) my zoa's are long gone. The Regal Angel got those in a matter of days... ;Wideyed

I just don't want to add another fish and put the ones we have in jeopardy, with some kind of disease.

If I did, I'd go back to @tsm corals like @justingraham stated earlier.

Ray's qt procedures are second to none in the US, and I'm grateful that at least one vendor, maintains that on their priority list.

Stopped getting alerts for this thread Freddie. Can't say I'll completely catch up but tank is looking great! Sorry for your losses too it's never fun!

I'm guessing you would buy the alkatronic again? It's on a short list of wants for me so I like to see positive reviews!

drawman,
It's been awhile and thanks for dropping in.

The Cowfish and Blue Streak was way before our clown passed away. Just wanted to update to what happened with those two fish.

Alkatronic:
It's has been up a running for almost two months.

The Bluetooth interface works well with my wife's latest Ipad. I can see it in the WIFI cloud, but have not made the connection to that account, yet.

Programming the unit is as simple as it gets.

My first regent mix was off, but the Alka-T's Baseline Calibration pulled that batch out of the hole.

I've been on full blown Action Mode, with my cal reactor for a fairly long time. I spent $900 so why not see what it can truly do... :)

I was dumping the used regent back into the GEO tank for a few days, but went back dumping back into the sump.
Have seen not one bad sign of dumping the used reagent back into the sump.

I'll mix a bigger batch for the GEO container, when this batch is used up.

The small pump B is on the loud side, but it's the only gripe that I have.

With the alk holding steady 24/7 my birdnest and others have just started to really burst in new growth.

I feel it does have a very nice niche when paired up to a calcium reactor.

Edit: All the fail safe features seem to be bug free... :)

Yes,
I'd buy it again, for pairing one up with a calcium reactor.

Hope that helps.

Freddie
