I’ll be interested to see how you get on with the siporax Freddie, I know at least one of the ‘tank masters’ who uses it.

Ive used Matrix instead, so looking forward to your review once its been up and running for a while and to see if I need to try it out.

At least that’s my experienceIt took a few months before my siporax kicked in with nitrate removal.Good luck.
Looks a lot more organized than what I have going on!

Guys, looks like nitrates are going down and skipping this week's water change.

Do they look like there coming down?

Shaun,
If you can see what I see in the above, Siporax seems to promising.

Just ordered some calcium nitrate just in case their about to take a quick dive.

Got some funk in spots of the reef's scape, but phos is still above .1

Last daily dose of MB-7 will be Monday, two weeks of seeding per Brightwells directions.

It certainly seems to be working from the picture definitely Freddie.

Well Shaun,

It's that 25mm pond size that you can get easily in the UK.

Angelia thinks it's dropping too, noticed it last night and re-tested this evening.

I’ll have a look and do a bit more research, I know it’s readily available here.

I have corals that need a new home

Thanks Justin!!

Let me get the phos and nitrates back in line, then may go with sticks back on top.

Got some cyano at this point as well. Would like a ORA Red Planet and Hawkins.
Used to have a lot of Hawkins before dinos hit (2015), and those were cool.

Need to get to the Critter at some point, for the packaging of Katrina's montis

Our little Charlie Brown (left over frag) has been happy.

Do you have a Red Planet?

I'm skeptical that it's the Siporax it usually takes a couple months to start doing anything. Either way promising results with what you've done!

Thanks Tim,

The only thing that has been done is dosing MB-7 while shutting off skimmer for four hours per dose, but lets play it out. Might not moving as fast as it looks.

Thanks so much for your incite.

on another note:
Starting to wonder (concerned) about crusso1993 not being on here with us.

Update:

The corals and fish are doing great. New rim growth with super nice polyp extension.

@drawman (Tim) is correct, nitrates are sitting still, Going to take some time for the Siporax to kick in. Have not done a water change in over two weeks. The weekly water changes will resume next Friday.

We finished seeding with MB-7.

Started to fire Brightwells Razor Marine after the MB-7 seeding was over. The R-M has really done a good job and pulled a lot of funk out of the system with that product.

Right now, dosing MB-Clean with skimmer off 4 hours, then hitting the reef with Marine Razor.

lol
Kinda in lab mode at this point.

I guess we could always go back to the Purigen reactor (going aggressive on the front end), but I think that would be a premature call at this point.

A tad amount of leftover cyano remains but seems to be clearing up. All other forms of funk build up seem to be long gone.

ReefWave 25:
The replacement controller has held up and the ReefBeat app has been smooth as silk.

Alka-T:
Holding solid as a rock / cross-testing against it once a week.

PS:
Last week cleaned all downpipes and the S-Series overflow valve with Heinz cleaning vinegar. Way overdue.

Update: 7/1/2020

Nitrates are still hanging at 40 - 50ppm, just riding it out at this point.

Have been really impressed with Brightwell Razor Marine and MB-Clean, all dosing is complete.

No change in livestock with corals and fish doing very well.

Since switching to the Tunze cal reactor media, TM's K and A trace elements seem to stand out really well.

If you guys remember we used to push the original S-Series 10 bulb t5 canopy with two t5s and 4 Kessil a80s, in the midsection. It holds the lights 4" above the waterline.

0219171556.jpg

Then we built the Kessil Stealth Bomber, with one AP700 with three of the a80s on the back wing.

I've really missed the low profile of that t5 canopy among other things and that canopy's color matches the rest of the reef.

Measured the midsection, and the Kessil a360x unit will fit like a glove, with no modification involved.

Welp,
She's going to come back to life.

Ordered 3 - a360x light units, one X spectral controller, and 4 - 90 degree K Links... ;Wacky

Hoping the S-Series power center's built-in t5 timers still work???

Hopefully, the updated Led-X / T5 Hybrid will be flying by next weekend.

Thanks for tagging and hope you all, are well.
