Well,
(lol)
@jsker is ghosting us ;Lurking and we no longer use the term of stalking. Stalking just looks bad for ones case, in the court of law :)

Here's the deal...
Since were cranking up the LRS "Reef Frenzy" for the Regal.
I've stopped dosing the Red Sea "Reef Energy"

Just don't feel the need to feed both foods.

Regards, GoVols

O-Tay...

Ran out of Salinity salt mix after this weeks water change.

So, I traded in my local reef shop credit's, from the Harlequin Shrimp and the Blue Throat Trigger.

Got the 225 gallon bucket of Salinity salt mix and a block of LRS "Fish Frenzy"

Still liking the Salinity mix / 225 gallons at 1.026sg / mixes to the parameters that I like and it supports my local reef shop.

Never tried the "Fish Frenzy", but following @elisa h 's lead. It has blackworms, PE Mysis and fish eggs in this LRS formula.

Regal Angel is doing great and (lol)... doped out on these LRS foods ;Wacky

Still feeding seaweed strips for tang's health :)

Welp,
Last night, was a loooong night :(

Our youngest daughter rushed down the stairs and woke us up at 1:30am.

The S-400 was extremely loud and we rushed into the den.

When I did the weekly water change (on Friday evening) I siphoned out the S-Series overflow box. Must have loosened one of the recirc. pumps hoses. Pump had come off the return connection and water was flowing over the back wall

Thankfully, I cut off the ATO real quick, and was mixing fresh salt water like a monkey on crack.

Overall there was no electrical damage and the display water stayed at .35 ppt.

Had to dry up about 7 gallons of spewed over saltwater, but avoided a disaster to the reef.

Yikes, good thing you caught that quickly.

I tried fish frenzy before but wasn't a fan. It's really chunky and is best suited for fish only systems I feel.

Yikes ! ! ! !:eek::eek:

Glad you caught it before it got too bad o_O
Thanks!!!

Daughter saved the reef on that one :)

Feel like a zombie at work today, buy wife says all is good at home. She said the corals and fish look good, like nothing happened.

Close call

Hybird,
We got lucky that it woke our daughter up!!!

Your right the fish frenzy is thicker than the reef frenzy and the reef frenzy is better for the corals too. Fish like both of them :)

Since everything worked out, I can laugh at this. I can visualize you at 2am on a monday morning making saltwater as fast as possible. Heck of a start to the week. I can empathize with the dread you felt, but you just sprayed a little water out of the tank, everyone is fine. Glad your daughter heard it in time.

I hope you have a very uneventful rest of the week :)

Just got home.

Big three are still inline.

Fish and corals looking good.

Re-refilling RO/DI jugs.

Close call and truly don't know what I'd do, if we lost the reef.

Lost 80% of two years worth, of hard core SPS growth, in early 2015, due to dino's and it was so heartbreaking.

Feel really blessed and humbled.

Sorry to hear what happened, but glad you mitigated the damage.

You'd keep on going -- That's the hobby. Besides, we'd send you frags.
Rakie,
Thanks and the reef is all good.
Our 20 year old daughter saved the day. (lol) She earned, six more months of rent free living :D

How's the tank looking @GoVols ?

Fudsey,
Thanks for asking and the S-400 is doing just fine :)

@HolisticBear is going to stay out of it

But... If anybody wants to take a guess about what's new in the reef

Hint:

Then, (lol) Fire away!!!

Update:

The reef's alk intake has gone up. So we had to re-tune the Apex controller (on and off ph settings) over the past week.
Found the new sweet melting point for the cal reactor on Thursday evening and the alk is holding.
