I'm not this bold, but I think Randy has some posts in the chemsitry forum where he describes using muriatic acid to bring the Alk down. If you let it sit for a week, it might drop to < 10 on it's own :)

@HolisticBear I read that post too and agree, I'd be chicken.

@GoVols I use io/rc and just let the alk come down in my tank. A 20% every 3 weeks brings my 90 up to about 9.3 from 8.2

Agreed! I'm a pretty foolish reefer, but I'd be hard pressed to start dumping acid into my tank.

(lol)
We're not dosing muriatic acid to lower the alk

Just ordered a couple of things for the Pixel- 2 and we can see ;Wideyed how they work.

Got this with my BRS rewards:

And bought this because Amazon has it so highly rated:

@Fudsey

The amazon lens kit is not worth the money for shooting an reef :(, but Angelia likes it for taking family shots :D

The Aquariclip is not perfect. (lol)... It turns the Setosa into a flaming hot orange, but it's pretty good over all and might be the right call for taking pictures of the Regal Angel :)

Work has been insane ;Wacky as I told @HolisticBear ... ;Dead

Thanks Freddie on the tips. I was thinking of the Aquariclip. I still may get it.

Don,
The Aquariclip is really nice.

Can't get anything to stop the washout, when "zooming in" on the Setosa
Guessing the Setosa is too close to the Kessil's???

(lol)
The Aquariclip can make your colors look better or different  than they are, and haven't had the time to monkey with it :(

For the Pixel-2 @Fudsey 's right.
Turning the cloud setting... ON, helps :)

I did something similar with lens and macro and filters. I didn’t like the lens kit as much for the iPhone X. But for the filter, it looks cool but my red acans turned into vibrant yellow with this filter. But worth it....

Sweet Angel !!!
Thanks, Fadi and she sure is sweet.

Got to give kudos to Brian at Reefwise for quarantining her before we got her. He said she loved (LRS) Reef Frenzy and she does :D

It's always nice to find a great vendor in this hobby, that truly cares.

GoVols: update for the day...

We have some good's :) and some bad's :(

First the bad news:
Angelia and I have had the blasto for years. From my own hard headedness. I was determined to push the KZ Genii T5 and the blasto could not acclimate to that bulb, then I did that Vibrant double (one time dose) which made matters worse. Then it fell into the Wall Hammer for a full day and the Wall Hammer stung it to near death. I have moved it to low light to see if it can recover, but it might be a gonna.

Monday evening we bought this Wilsoni from DD (WYSIWYG) and the Regal Angel is popping it
lg-042718-091a.jpg

If the Regal Angel takes it down then it means, no Trachy's either :(

Now to the good news:
Moved the Dendros upfront next to the duncan, where the Lobo used to be and it's orange polyps are staying open during lights on :)

The last thing is that we started pushing 2 Giesemann Super Actinic T5's with the ATI B+'s (a week ago) and the four Kessil a80's.
This is a winner combination and the S-400 has never looked better as far as the color spectrum goes :D

Keeping hope alive that the Regal Angel lays off the Wilsoni, but it's going to be, what it's going to be ;Nailbiting

As always:
Thanks for tagging along for the ride.

I think the really meaty corals like that can be irresistible sometimes to angels. But I bet she’ll lay off of it after a couple days of being used to it in the tank. It’d probably help to feed extra for a bit to keep her full and distracted!
Also I hope the blasto makes a speedy recovery!
