Ouch, sorry to hear that! Always good to have carbon on hand for emergency
Thanks, Rakie!!
That was one dumb ;Cow move, with the Frontline Plus... ;Dead
I think the last bta is going to pull through.

@elisa h
I don't want to jinx the Wilsoni ;Nailbiting, but the Regal Angel has laid off and the coral is puffing back out.
Hopefully you were right, and the Regal was just curious.

Freddie

That's good that it'll pull through! My buddy is an old school reefer who just nuked 6 true Sherman rose BTA with legit lineage. These are nems he's had well over 15+ years. All from changing his light source...

Nems are finicky. They're fairly bomb proof until they aren't, then they go down fast

Well,
I feed heavy.

It likes to eat zoa's and it popped the Wilsoni pretty good when I first put in that coral
It has laid off the Wilsoni (for now), but I think, We'd be pushing it, to add anything like an Scoly or Trachy.
It does not pop Lobo's.

Could care less about the zoa's... :D

Other than that, no problems.

@SPR1968
Shaun's,
Regal Angel has been an model citizen.
Yes my Regal Angel is a model citizen (as far as I know! Lol) and just minds his business wandering around the tank.

Having said this ‘something’ and I think it’s a Freckle Face Tang, is eating my green star polyps.

Re this, my flame angel is also a model citizen, IMO star polyps would be way down the "things to chew" list! ;)

O-Tay....

Got bored Saturday night, after the NHL playoffs went off, and got out, of the "Lazy-Boy"

The cal reactor has been firing for seven months.

Saw some funk build up in stage one, but stage two is clean as an whistle.

Time to clean stage one's media:

Funky media...

Pour out all media into Tupperware bowls are rinse in small amounts with strainer
IMG_20180519_203941.jpg

Reload the reactor with the cleaned out media and reinstall stage one

And our happy "continuous stream"

I’ve discovered the Freckle Face Tang has been ‘wrongly accused’ ma lord!

Asterina Starfish....... AKA eater of my bl..... corals!

Freddie, is the Calcium reactor easy to use, as opposed to just dosing with an auto doser ? It’s just looks a bit complicated for my simple mind ! Lol

Lol, Shaun

1) Get you a pair of Harlequin shrimp and knock out the asterina... :)

2) I grew up with cal reactors being the norm. and last year, I saw ;Wideyed how Hybird ran his... ;Woot ;Woot

Their like dialing in 3 part dosing if you get the right equipment and understand ;Bookworm how an cal reactor works.

If the S-400 already struggled with low ph, then the cal reactor would have not been considered.
If you have low ph, you will need to kalk dose while you run an cal reactor, to keep the display's ph, up.

So,
For myself:
It has become easy, but (lol) there's always tomorrow...

:)

How has the Kessil a80/T5 been doing???

We did the Kessil a80 Led/T5 mod back in March of 2017.

First shot is the Wall Hammer right before the Kessil mod.

Second shots are from last night during the weekly water change

Can't argue with that growth. It's such a joy to see your tank, the majority of tanks have only frags or small colonies, everything in your tank is substantial.
Thanks, Micheal
It would not be the same without your help and support.

Very cool. Reminds of a boss character from the game Horizon Zero Dawn or an alien from the movie Pacific Rim..... even got a bit of a Ripley flashback
