Pancho,
I'm calling it off.

The new recirc strainers came in yesterday.

There are not enough screw in threads to make a water tight seal, and there is just a few big threads with gaps.

(lol)
Abandon ship!!

;Eggonface
Their not supposed to form a water tight seal Freddie, their just vents to let water into the rear chamber for circulation and to stop fish swimming through. Or do they just not fit in at all ?

Their supposed to just turn a little to hold them I place. If they were water tight you might have a few ‘issues’! Lol

No, I did not remember that the threads were built like that.

I have only pulled out the flow vents when trapping a fish in the overflow.

lol
again... ;Eggonface

Do you not get Coralline Algae on the bottom of your tank? How is your glass on the bottom so clean? My bottom glass is covered in coralline. I actually like it.

It's there at times off and on, in my build thread.

Right now I've got a covey asterina starfish keeping it down, but not enough to bring in a pair of Harley shrimp.

I'll take the BB floor either way, but lol, my wife can't stand coralline on the back black glass. Says it takes away from the contrast... :)

As far as clean on the BB.

Posted on here awhile back

Thanks for dropping by and hope the above link helps.

The pump starter part is separate, correct? I find those handy with an 11 year old.

Yeah,
You can un-screw that part off.

Here's a video

I only push water out, to clean the tubing, with freshwater when I'm done.

It's pretty much the same attachment we had in the late 70's - mid 80's for a waterbed, that you used with an garden hose... ;Oldman

I forgot all about waterbeds. Are they still even a thing? Never really liked them (uh, no leverage).

Hey Freddie, when is the Abyzz coming?

I want to watch it working!

[emoji1786]

Pancho,
It's the same way when I ordered the Alkatronic.

Shipping to Aquarium Specialty, then to me.

Looks like I'll have it in hand next week, but it will take time to plumb it in.

I'll post when it comes in, but not going to run on random flow.

(lol)
The sump's waterline would be going up and down, plus the down pipe overflow cup would not stay dialed in.

Caveman,
Don't no if their still a hot thing or not.

If I slept on one today, I would be crippled the next morning.

When heaters would blow, those beds would cold as ice... ;Wideyed

Your right about the random flow not working very well in the S series Freddie, but using it in a feed mode would be very handy

I’ve been reading up on them and the controls (for a reason! lol) , and just enough power to keep the water at the top of the return pipe would mean we wouldn’t need to completely turn the main return off and flood the sump. But this would stop/reduce food going over the overflows and also be handy when feeding Reef Energy or similar

It's output is so tiny... ;Nailbiting

I hope it lives up to it's billing, and forgot to order more Reef Energy... ;Blackeye

And off to do the water change.
