I got a little over a 1/4 of the way through yesterday took a bit of a break, 200+ pages is a Doosy (spelling?) For sure but ill get through it eventually ;) trying to learn everything I can before I build my system when I can leave Pearl Harbor and move back to the mainland. Gonna build a house around the tank hopefully, the wife is on board (so far ).

Yeah, some are quite a bit of time to get through. I generally skim a few dozen pages a night before bed on my iPad...

Dang Guys,
Brew's reef blows the S-400 away, and he is super, super sharp

SkiCatTX,
Hope to be heading to your build soon. Love that frosted look with the white.

GoVols: Update for 6/1/20

1) Milwaukee phos meter is a piece of junk... :(

2) New Hanna ULR ppm checker reads within 1 ppm from back to back to back testing... :)

3) Improved Red Sea Pro alk kit test within .2 ppm to Salifert and nails the Hanna, shoot for the lime green color, about two drops before the reagent over dose color of yellow.

4) Siphoned out S-Series overflow (super funky in there), sump and broke down / cleaned skimmer.

5) We will get Katrina the monti frags.

6) Nitrates are hung at 30ppm, (Going old school) got a ton of the 25mm pond Siporax coming in tomorrow.

7) 2 liters of Microbacter-7 hit the door this evening

8) 3 sheets of 2' x 2' black egg crate coming in from BRS

So, hoping the Siporax does the job and got a lot of dyi, measuring and making Siporax baskets.
Going to try to fit 10 liters of the Siporax and we'll play it out over the months to come.

The next day after the last post, the trachy's went to the Critter, so I guess lobos are the only brains that is safe with this Regal angel.

Reef is well, but putting in the old live rock from the garage has made us go though another transition stage, including diatoms, but they are fading away.

Hope all are well and we're hanging in here too.

@justingraham @HolisticBear @hybridazn @Rick.45cal @Janci and others who followed:

Sent a pm way back to Jackie and she did respond back last weekend.

They are working on the exterior of their home, and she sounded happy and healthy.

She talked about firing back up her 180, and hope she does.

Just wanted to pass it along.

Glad to hear about Jackie, thank you for letting me know!

Looks like you are going to be busy with lots of new stuff to play with. I’ve finally managed to get my phosphates back in line and things are really taking off in my tank. I’m thinking I’m going to have to get my hands wet and do some major overhauling. I’ve got corals over growing corals that I really don’t want overgrown. I know, it’s a rough problem to have.

I also just got a Hanna ULR phosphate ppm meter and have been pleased with it’s performance. Since my phosphates are now in a range that are hard to tell by eye with the salifert kit, it’s been a nice tool.

Yeah, I figured everyone has done black backgrounds. I really like the way white (kind of greenish with the glass) takes on the colors of the lights and corals in front of it...perhaps it will blend away and look deeper? However, it will certainly take way more cleaning than a black background, so that might become a pain real quick...we'll just have to see...

Tank and stand before it was painted. With luck it will have water in it soon...

Sorry guys,
Work has been slamming and picked up two more responsibilities as well.

Pretty much getting home, catching up with Angelia, work in a movie and hitting the hay.

Put 12 hours into the pond size Siporax... ;Wacky

10 liters:
1) Put one plate on the bottom on the return chamber and moved the return pump on top of that section.

2) Section 2 is on top of that plate upfront

3) Section 3 behind section 2, to the left

4) Section 4 to the right of section 3, a tad shorter so the sump's ATO float will not get hung

5) Section 5 is in the skimmer chamber against the overflow

6) Moved the return pump to the back of the return chamber

7) Still dosing MB-7 daily

Some shots are on my legs, while making the crate baskets, stacking media and some are in the sump.

Friday night nitrates

lol
let's just call it at 50ppm

Phos has been high, so the Rowaphos is back online, and the GFO can bind silicates, just the case Siporax releases those.

We'll keep tracking and hope the media can de-nitrate.

Be careful with the siporax. Siporax + gfo + chaeto = dinos

At least that’s my experience.

It took a few months before my siporax kicked in with nitrate removal.Good luck.

Thanks Rich,

lol
Only took about 12 hours to make those and just under 200 mini zip ties... ;Hilarious

Got to admit that I married up with Angelia, and her heart is just as beautiful as her outside.

Thanks, D

Talked to @drawman about it behind the scenes too.

Don't carbon dose or turn a fuge, but we'll keep an tight eye on the P's and N's

Guessing the P's have risen from adding the old rock from the garage.

Thanks again for the heads up (seems like Siporax can really take down some nitrates) and will post as we go. We can always remove a lot of the baskets as an option as well.

Testing P's daily at this point.

Hope you guys have a great evening!!
