This is probably not worth it but I am in Charleston, SC staying with someone whose house is on a saltwater marsh. I caught a couple dozen of what I think are saltwater grass shrimp. I am only 3.5 hours from home so I could take some of them home and was thinking of putting them in my sump. Would they survive? Would it hurt anything? Almost all of the shrimp I see are berried.

Dspends on your proposed purpose. They will acclimate to full salt and not be worried to transport disease. Inverts don't carry fish diseases and the diseases and bacteria we are concerned are due to captivity, the processes of housing and transport. I feed these to my predators, some will keep them as scavengers, part of a cuc.
