Hello reefers,
Some form of algae has been developing on my rocks, can anyone identify what it could be ?
The phosphates are 0 - 0.01 ish and nitrates 3ppm~
all other paramaters seem to be stable.
Low phosphates and nitrates got me a little confused, but I believe that the algae are consuming them quite quickly therefore the low reading.

My clean up crew is quite limited atm as I didn't buy much so i dont starve them do death. Any recommendations on which cuc for this specific algae? Its a pretty new tank

sorry for the picture quality, cracked camera...

New tank uglies is brown, new coralline is green, and the pink is probably cyano (unlikely but possible coralline)

New tank uglies will go away in time, the green will turn purple and pink, and get a little more water movement in there to help the cyano

Your tank will change colors for the next year. It is all normal. It doesn't require anything except managing parameters and removing excess by hand.

Also to mention, its quite hard to notice it under the blues. But when turned only whites, it seems like a different tank

This is what happens in a new tank. And don’t be scared of rocks changing color, it’s normal and part of a reef.

Once algae starts kicking in go to reefcleaners.org and order the package for 1/2 your tank size. Again, algae is normal. Nothing to worry about
