I have had this Green Slimmer for 4 or 5 months. It started as one stick with polyps fully extended. It has grown like crazy but now the polyps have receded. For a couple of weeks Alk did drop but I have it back up to 10 It was at 11. Real bad pics sorry ( getting a new camera), It is still greenish.

It looks like its bleached. You should add some po4 and no3 and keep them at 2.5ppm no3 and .03-.10ppm po4. It will recover its easier zoox that way.

What's the best way to raise po4 and no3?
I use potassium nitrate (stump remover) and t.s.p cleaning powder (sodium triphosphate) both from my local home depot. However if your in the usa, id buy from amazon loudwolf brand or food grade versions of those chemicals. Or you can use seachem flourish phosphorus.

Red Sea Recipe...

Red Sea Coral Pro Salt
Red Sea Foundation ABC
Red Sea Trace Colors ABCD
And occasionally Red Sea Coral Nutrition AB+
Id stop using any of their aminos and food mixes as it may be causing this too. Just stick to alk and calcium until things get better.

So stop dosing Reef Energy AB+ to feed the coral? That is the only thing there with Amioacids.

Do you you think the white slime is Dinos? Will Vibrant help that? Thanks

Yes just use alk and calcium. The slime isnt dinos. It looks more bacterial imo. It could be from carbon dosing. Vibrant would likely kill your corals in their weakened state.

Slime is gone. Green Slimmer is starting to open polyps.

No3 and Po4 were both zero. I did dose Vibrant for 2 weekends. Slime didn't clear but all the thick algae in the back glass did! I started feeding very heavy. I turned off skimmer and let it bubble only, no skim. Pulled most of the caulerpa from the refugium, started dosing NeoPhos daily.

No3 3.0 Red Sea
Po4 0.08 Hanna ULR

Getting a little brown algae on the sand bed now, but not bad. My Diamond Goby died. I pulled Flameback because he was picking on new LPS. I think I'll go find another Diamond and a couple more fish for bio. Really have to stay on top of it.

Everything in tank looks good. Green Slimmer is slimly! Acros growing like crazy. Scolys look good. I am dosing Brightwell Neo Phos daily at the recommended dose. But P04 is only 0.02 at +/- 0.02 per Hanna Phosphate ULR. Could be zero.

Should I up the dosage or just keep rolling the way I am?

Everything is looking good and growing great! April all was looking half dead.

I just don't get it. I stopped water changes for over 6 weeks now. Over feed my 7 fish like crazy.

Dose Neophos daily for 3 weeks until Po4 is up tp 0.1

Nitrate is ZERO!

Should I start dosing NepNitro?
