From what I’ve seen about the purple tech is it just ground up coral one algae. All it does is seed the coralline. With the cycle just starting it will not be beneficial.

Can anyone tell me anything about my water parameters? Am I on the right track?

Looks like the cycle is just starting, very high ammonia, no nitrites yet, basically starting a new tank in my opinion, something is causing all that ammonia if you haven’t dosed ammonia

When he scrubbed the rocks, some things died deep in the rocks, that help start the cycle. I had him do that to have the tank cycle itself.
The cycle looks great. Watch that ammonia and make sure it drips and the nitrites go up. When the nitrites drop to 0, then you are okay to do a water change. This may take a few weeks

Should I be concerned that my GSP has not opened yet?
It hasn’t been open in like 2 weeks or more. It still has its purple bass though so I don’t think it’s dead or dying. Maybe just stressed? Obviously it needs time but the more I think about it the more concerned I get.

They were stressed with the ammonia. You corrected that and now it’s just going to be a waiting gam to see. Your nitrates are coming up a bit now so it looks like what we all did is working.

Now it’s going to be a waiting game

Keep checking your parameters. If you see a rise in nitrates to over 10 do a small water change like a gallon a day to help it.

I’m pretty sure my GSP is dying now :(
You can see that white spot on it. I think that means the purple base is turning white and it’s dying.

Take it out and toss it.

Gsp is cheap and easy to frag

Alright, my frogspawn is going nuts though. He stretching out really big and he loves it. So that’s a good sign. I’m gonna test my nitrite again right now.

I see. I do agree it is a goner. Curious to see what your numbers look like.

That makes be true. Remember you didn’t kill the rocks, their is still lots of good bacteria deep within. I would just run the test again to be sure.

If it is right you are cycling correctly.
The ammonia you jab before is what killed the stars

Test 2... if this is right I would say I’m due for a water change?
Might be the old kit that’s doing this though. New one comes in tomorrow

That second test is looking better. Hold out on the WC until you are sure your ammonia is 0. At this rate another few days.
