So far I am the only I know of whom has studied cyanobacteria in depth for the marine aquarium.

It was Randy. Put some in a cup and swirl it around. If it clumps back together it's cyano. If it just makes a mess, it's diatoms. Or do I got that backwards??? [emoji15]
The test is for which kind of cyano it is. Peroxide will kil one but not the other. If it's the other chemiclean gets it.

How long should I expect to need to dose H2O2 before I start seeing results? It seems to come back slower after I clean the tank but it is still coming back.

In about 7 days you should notice a decrease in growth. In most tanks it is gone in 14 days.
