I love the teal stylo! I have one too - did you get it from Nemo’s?

No. Are you talking about the birds nest? I got the smaller green stylo from a local reefer. Did you get yours from Nemo's? If so, when because it might be mine I traded in not to long ago.

I did! Got the purple stylo as well. All my corals have come from there, 100% success lol

Nemo's is the best in the area. Most of my corals have come from local hobbyist and Battlecorals though. When did you get the teal birdsnest from Nemo's?

Looks good. Just curious to see if you had a piece of mine. It is not though because I traded about 25 frags to Nemo's in December. Good looking piece. They grow like weeds. I hit mine with high par and the center started glowing Orange.

I have a metal halide bulb just a few inches away, not sure what the PAR is but it’s got to be pretty decent! It’s also sitting right in front of one of the returns, it seems to really like that spot :)

Yep. Good light and especially flow. They grow so fast and will need flow for the center. Mine started to STN because it grew so big and lost some flow.

Isn’t that normal though? They will shade themselves out over time. There is actually a symbiotic species of crab that lives inside corals like this and will help keep it hollow in the center. I’ve been considering getting one or 2, I have a pocillapora that’s getting quite large as well.

Yes. However, they typically just lose color when shaded. My entire bottom had tissue and polyps but they were white. Without flow the tissue will die which is what happened to mine.

I had a scare this morning! I woke up at 1:45am because my frag tank float switch was going off and shutting off my pump to the frag tank. I checked the tank and found a snail stuck in the return pipe causing the water to rise and activate my float switch. Removed the snail and alarms cleared. I made sure everything was back on before returning to bed(So I thought). That was until I checked on the tank around 7:45am this morning before going to work and found it to be oddly quiet. I checked the pump and it was not on. Apex decided to shut my return pump off for no reason and my return pump was off for 6 hours! Luckily I have two wavemakers that run throughout the night and those were still on.

The good news is everything looks good and oddly enough PE looked great this morning. I might actually implement a time throughout the night where everything turns off and is still for an hour or so.

I have programming now that will alert me if the pumps are off for more than an hour.....lesson learned.

Glad everything is fine, this is a beautiful tank!

What’s this one here?

That is the BC Lemon Peel. One of the frags I received from @Battlecorals last month. Sexy piece with bright yellow tips. Going to add a lot of color in that area when it starts to take off.
