Hope all is well and you heal up fine. My female clown really went after me today. I've been replanning my tank and re-aquascaped. I swear she bit me about a hundred times in the arm over the day. Very annoying and a bit startling. Almost dropped some rock a couple of times.

I feel your pain! I have a pair if snowflake clowns. A few years ago the male, Jackson, suddenly started attacking me. But only when I had a toothbrush cleaning the rocks near his area. This went on for some time. Finally I noticed he was protecting their eggs. So now I watch for eggs. Funny, my female has never bitten me, just the male.

    Hope your eye heals quickly.

This is why I always try to wear my thick shoulder length aqua gloves. I probably look like I'm trying to manufacture meth when wearing them but at least they're bite resistant!

Wow!! Hope you heal up quickly! My regular female ocellaris goes after my hand any time I'm in the tank, and she's broken skin once. Definitely a pain to clean the tank with her, but I never knew they could jump so high!

So sorry for your trouble. Had an incredible pair of pink skunk clown fish and the female was really aggressive at times. I chased her with my hand and she finally quit. Got nipped a few times but kept on comin'. She figured it out eventually. Have an (I think it's called a maroon.) the dark red ones and he seems to run away when I clean the tank. For now anyways... He's still small but I make sure to nicely displace him every time I'm doing maintenance. Although it helps that he has two anemonies he hosts and one is right next to the glass where the other is away from it quite a bit. I also have a small 20 gallon tank. So it's not muc space for him to claim. Hope your eye is better. Be sure and take good care of it. You don't want an eye infection.

She is definitely mean-mugging you. Got the eye of the devil and 'em curled lips.

Hope you feel better and have an infection-less healing experience!

When i was a fisherman in the Florida Keys I was heading in from a trip and i opened my livewell to free the baits i hadn't used. When i opened the lid a 12 inch yellowtail snapper jumped out with such force that his spines split my forehead open and ripped off his back. I was shocked as blood streamed down my face. Fishes be kray kray lol.

OK be honest now, did you put it back or just let it flap around saying 'That will teach you!!!'?

    Why?
We are the ones invading their territory and yet we act suprised when they defend it aggressivly.

I have my first pair of clowns, and prob the last too. Okay, they attack because we "invade their territory" but it's just such a hassle to try maintain things with having 2 fish ready to go Ham on that hand.

Get better mate, and be carefull for infections!

I recently got rid of my clown. He always attacked when I did maintenance.

Recently got a bigger tank and was going to get a pair of Lightning Maroons...now, maybe not.

Time to update the Wikipedia page to include this information.

What would be fantastic is an episode made by the guy that does River Monsters in the exact same format but him searching for the killer clownfish. Lolz

I'm definitely not mad about it! I'm the kind of guy that picks bugs up and puts them back outside when I find them in the house because I don't like killing things. I actually feel bad for the fish now because she obviously feels my hand is a threat; hopefully me cleaning the tank doesn't stress her out too bad.

I can almost hear the snorts and giggles from the doctors as they treated you..

Seriously, I hope you heal fast! Clowns can be nasty buggers.
