Can Zoa's sting other coral? Other hairy mushrooms in the tank are fine. All the other coral look great.

Those mushrooms are very tough and hardy. If it's melting or dying it's not because of the zoas. It could be splitting, moving or just in an odd shape for now.

SG 1.024
PH 8.0
Temp 78.6
KH 10
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0

Tests aren't accurate enough on my phosphate and nitrate. Both look to be at or near 0. I am running carbon/gfo. I just added EcoBak yesterday and I have a Chaeto/pods fuge.

All the rest of my coral look good though. I noticed my brittle star is hanging out under this mushrooms rock.

+1 I thought mine were dying before and they were just splitting. It's not easy ripping yourself apart to grow!

Very weird. He's happy again today. Looked melted for two days. I don't see any splits off of him.

So another hairy mushroom did it and I was able to see what happened. They don't like Garlic Guard blown directly of them at all.

I know this post is very very old. But my hairy mushroom looks like some are dying! I have a lot of other corals doing great including sps. Water changes every week. A few just started turning dark and the mouths open. Are they splitting or dying!!?

My hairy mushroom started to split from the center oral disk complete to one side I hope its splitting and not die in.
