ok, the device is not complex. as you all know. I assumed my blade was going dull because it was not removing so green sand line-level algae from the glass and it's one-year-old.

so I order new blades. I have read a lot about replacement blades for lower-end scrapes being crap, but this is no low-end scarper ($$ wise). these new blades are no better than the one I wanted to replace. it's not removing anything but biofilm. what does get removed I believe is due to the scrubby rough texture pad and not the scrapper blade. its like the blade is barely making contact with the glass

new out of the box it would cut thru stuff like a hot knife thru butter. so...... i hate to ask but why are these new blades no better than my old ones. anyone? lol
