Quick question, do you replace the filter after every test? I didn’t see anything in the instructions about how often it needed to be replaced or if it was a one time thing.

I believe the paper filter is a one time use. You have 25 filters and 25 packets. I also wouldn't want the zinc to sit on the filter and dry - not really good filter practice in general.

I take my sweet time placing the filter paper and also the gasket. Perhaps I need to tighten the filter more?

Anyway, I was 2 for 2 this morning testing Nitrates. First result was 1.11ppm and the 2nd 1.34ppm. Pretty darn good.

Are there one or two gaskets in that filter holder? I only see one and it doesnt fit in the bottom piece like I saw in a video.
Thanks

I’ve had 100% success with this method. Push the gasket up into the top part, put the paper in the “cup” of the bottom part (make sure the paper is not up on the lip, because the seal comes from the gasket pushing on that lip). Then just screw it together. Not too tight, just enough to feel the gasket start to compress.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. This is the way I thought it was because when I opened the filter for the first time it was wedged up in the top piece, so I figured that's how it was supposed to be, until I looked up the Hanna video.

So, I thought I posted that yesterday..ha..
Went to post now and saw it still sitting there.
... BUT..HALLE-FREAKIN-LULLA!!
I GOT A READING! AND THIS WAS VERY IMPORTANT ONE BECAUSE I BELIEVE ALL MY PROBLEMS LATELY HAVE STEMMED FROM ZERO NITRATES... AND THATS HARD TO TELL WITH COLOR VISUALS. I GOT A LIL LEAKAGE AND BEARLY GOT 10 ML BUT IT WORKED WITH GASKET ON TOP.. SINCE MINE IS WAY THICKER AND JUST TO BIG A DIAMETER TO FIT IN BOTTOM PIECE. ..AND MAYBE I SHLD GO EVEN SLOWER ON THE PLUNGER. (DROP PER SEC ON THIS)
SO.. I DID NYOS FIRST AND SHOWED A LITTLE TINT .. SO MAYBE 1PPM NITRATE?
BUT WILL ADDITIVES EVEN IN A ZERO SAMPLE REALLY ALLOW IT TO EVER BE PERFECTLY CLEAR? YOU BE THE JUDGE BELOW..
SO MY HANNA READING WAS... 0.02.
I WOULD SAY THATS PRETTY MUCH ZERO.
What other test is gonna show u that?
GONNA ADD Neo Nitro NOW.. AND GET THIS THING BALANCED!
Should I confirm with another test..probably.. do I have the time or emotional strength to do it at all , let alone deal with a possible Inv error... NO.
