The low range kit isn't nearly complicated as it is made out to be but right tool for the right job so it is good to see this come to market.

I beg to differ, I do water quality for a living and that multi step process is ripe for easy errors. I decided it wasn’t worth the time for me personally, but my nitrates aren’t low range anyway…..so this HR kit is Probly better suited for my needs as you mentioned

I was able to pre-order a Hanna High Range Nitrate checker a while back and received it today! Only 1 powder reagent. Process is pretty similar to ULR Phosphorous. On, C1 add sample, C2 add reagent, mix for two minutes and hold for 7 minute count down.

Much smaller than the Nitrate LR.




I'll post back later after it's first use.

I hope to get mine Sunday afternoon directly from the long suffering Kevin Costa himself. I've been complaining bitterly to him for a good six years now (at MACNAs and RAPs) about why it was taking Hanna so long to produce this particular checker, and I know he'll remember me. Maybe he'll give me a discount for being a really, really patient customer...

Now I'll be get the pleasure of complaining to him about Hanna's lack of an MG Checker!

I've been curious about the reason behind this - 'specially given the whole " merger " thing. Would MD have had a "prioritized relationship" with Hanna to get first crack at selling new product? Is that a thing?

I just ordered mine from Saltwater Aquarium.com. I can't wait to try it out. I am assuming it comes with 25 reagents. I couldn't find any of them on the site. Brs is so big, and yet they don't even have them...lol

probably correct as 10 came with the PO4 checker, but the description on SA says 25?
