Thanks a lotThe 713 will say 0.17 ppb
That = 0.052 ppm

Oh ya howdy and welcome
Perfect happy to know that I was very confused0.17 is less than 0.2 that measurement would be in the hanna 0.20
Correct...the LOW RANGE you read in ppm, no conversion needed.That hanna has ppm or ppb
PpmThat hanna has ppm or ppb
Is that a good level for a “softy & lps” system?Correct...the LOW RANGE you read in ppm, no conversion needed.
That’s not bad 0.17ppm, provided it’s not increasing, and stuff is happy.Is that a good level for a “softy & lps” system?
In my opinion it is a loaded question...I had 1 ppm (Salifert kit) for quite some time and had a hammer grow well and all my softies didn't care. I did have a serious algae problem...nitrates were around 30 ppm. I dropped the numbers to around where you are and things were fine...the hammer didn't like the drop, but everything got used to my lower numbers.Is that a good level for a “softy & lps” system?
Ok great. I have no algae, corals are happy. Like you say just need to monitor itThat’s not bad 0.17ppm, provided it’s not increasing, and stuff is happy.
If your system works well at that number and you have no algae problems, just monitor that.
Is that a good level for a “softy & lps” system?
Thanks. So far everything is doing goodIn my opinion it is a loaded question...I had 1 ppm (Salifert kit) for quite some time and had a hammer grow well and all my softies didn't care. I did have a serious algae problem...nitrates were around 30 ppm. if your corals are doing fine and you don't have excessive algae growing over everything I don't worry too much about numbers.
ThanksOn the high end, under .1 is a good aim, but if your tank is looking good and it's been at that lvl for a while you don't need to rush to lower it.
