Monitor the health of your saltwater reef aquarium with the Reef Professional Kit for Calcium, Alkalinity, & Phosphates.

Water quality is the most important aspect of a healthy reef aquarium. Remove subjective results and guesswork by confidently testing with Hanna Instruments. Bridge the gap between simple chemical test kits and expensive instrumentation with this convenient, professional kit.
  • Digital equipment for accurate results.
  • Complete kit includes everything you need, so you can start testing today.
  • Specifically chosen for use in saltwater reef aquariums.
The Reef Professional Kit includes:

Hanna Marine Alkalinity (dKH) Checker® HC - HI772
The HI772 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate, and cost-effective way to measure alkalinity in degrees of carbonate hardness, commonly abbreviated as dKH. Critical to marine environments, alkalinity not only provides the carbonate ion concentration required for skeletal formation and growth of many coral, but also acts as a pH buffer against large changes in acidity.

Hanna Marine Calcium Checker® HC - HI758U
The HI758U Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a straightforward way to measure calcium. Required for the development of calcium carbonate skeletons of coral reefs, calcium is a crucial component of marine waters. Accurately testing calcium levels is critical for everyone from coral reef hobbyists to aquaculture farms and research facilities. Updated to include the HI731339p mechanical pipette for better accuracy.

Marine Phosphate Ultra Low Range Colorimeter - HI774
The HI774 Ultra Low Range Phosphate Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a cost-effective way to measure phosphate in marine systems, including reef tanks. Testing for phosphates is standard practice for saltwater aquariums and provides valuable insight into your reef tank's water chemistry to help ensure long-term coral health. Phosphates are one of the many forms of phosphorus compounds found in marine waters. Excessive phosphate levels can prevent calcification, skeletal formation, and growth of many coral species, particularly those referred to as SPS or small-polyp stony. In addition, high phosphate levels can cause nuisance algae growth in your reef tank. This can become problematic because algae often outcompetes sessile organisms for light, nutrients, and space, jeopardizing long term coral health in your reef.

Marine Salinity Tester - HI98319
Designed to bring simplicity to salinity testing during the any process, the HI98319 Marine Salinity Tester measures conductivity (EC) to determine the salinity of natural and artificial seawater. Within seconds, the salinity and temperature are digitally displayed on the LCD.

Phosphate Ultra Low Range Reagents (25 Tests) - HI774-25
The HI774-25 are the reagents for the HI774 Phosphate Ultra Low Range Checker® HC. These high-quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.

35 ppt Salinity Calibration Solution Sachets (25 x 20 mL) - HI70024P
HI70024P is a premium quality 35.00 ppt salinity calibration solution that is NIST traceable and contained in portable single-use sachets. Each sachet has the lot number and expiration date stamped on it and is made of light block foil ensuring freshness each time one is opened. Hanna's line of calibration solutions have been specially formulated to have an expiration of 5 years from the date of manufacture for an unopened sachet.

Deionized water (230 mL) - HI70436M
Deionized water for your water quality testing needs. Air-tight seal to ensure the quality of the solution and marked with lot number and expiration date.

Saltwater Nitrate Low Range Checker® HC

The HI781 Marine Nitrate Low Range Colorimeter is designed to accurately determine low range nitrate levels in saltwater aquariums and marine applications. With a digital read out, there is no more struggling to determine colors visually.
  • Range: 0.00 to 5.00 ppm (as NO3–) [0.0 to 50.0 ppm (calculated) using dilution]
  • Built-in timer so you don't miss a step.
  • Saltwater Compatible
Saltwater Nitrate Low Range Checker® HC

The HI781 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate, and cost-effective way to measure nitrate from 0.00 to 5.00 ppm (as NO3–) in your saltwater aquarium. For samples containing 5.0 to 50.0 ppm nitrate, follow the approved dilution procedure.
Nitrate is a by-product of the Nitrogen cycle. Excessive amounts of nitrates in a reef aquarium can promote the growth of undesirable organisms including algae and dinoflagellates while insufficient amounts can lead to starvation in which SPS and other corals will show signs including the loss of color and paleness.
The HI781 Nitrate Checker HC is a handheld colorimeter that uses the Beer-Lambert principle to determine the concentration of nitrate colorimetrically. The HI781 is designed specifically to measure low levels of nitrate in a saltwater aquarium.

Marine pH Checker® HC

Get accurate water testing results with the HI780 Marine pH Colorimeter. With a digital read out, there is no more struggling to determine colors visually. This pH tester's compact design fits in your pocket or stores easily in your shop.
  • Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits.
  • One-button operation makes getting your pH results simple.
  • Great for aquariums and marine environmental testing.
The HI780 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost effective way to measure pH in saltwater.
pH is a measure of the hydrogen ion concentration in your water; the higher the concentration, the more acidic the water is. A neutral pH is 7; most fish can live in a general range between 6 and 8. Keeping your aquarium pH stable and in optimal ranges reduces stress on your fish and aquatic animals, helping them resist disease and tolerate other stressors. Maintaining an ideal pH can also dramatically improve growth, behavior, and overall appearance.
Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI780 marine pH meter provides quick, accurate results in a few easy steps.

Drawing of the Prize and Notification of Winnings

Entries accepted through April 11, 2021. The winner will be chosen by random draw and announced on April 12, 2021.

At the end of the contest we will choose the winner via a random number generator. The winner's username will be tagged in the winning announcement.
