We have a little 3” mantis (Haptosquilla stoliura) and was wondering if it would bother an urchin? So far, as far as I know, it hasn’t touched the snails or hermits, at least not yet. It’s been eating the ghost shrimp.

It’s started going after hermits to no surprise, but since urchins are slow moving, spiky and probably bigger than him, I wonder if he’d even bother with it.

Got a big tuxedo urchin for my predator tank and a baby pink/purple pin cushion urchin for my reef tank. Now to find it a hat lol.

Our mantis has been going nuts over feeder fish. Also loves snails, hermits and ghost shrimp so as long as it’s well fed hopefully it’ll leave Spike alone.
