I bought a CPR Aquatics Deluxe CS102 (with aqualifter) and it’s much louder than I expected. I didn’t install gate valves on either drain line simply because I was hoping it wouldn’t be necessary. Rookie mistake. I soft plumbed it so adding a gate valve should be easy enough. First, is a herbie even feasible for this HOB? If so, how tall should I make the standpipe for the emergency drain? Should it be above or below where the water flows into the rear chamber? Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.

no reason why you can’t.. a quick search and found this picture, that’s about the height you want your pipes.
