Hi everyone, my name is Mark, I just started my tank a couple months ago.
75 gallon, all my parameters seem ok
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0
Nitrate about 10 ppm
Phosphate 0
Ph about 8.0
I’m dumping my skimmer cup almost every day…
I purchased an RODI setup..
am I just going through the ugly phase I read about?
Looks like red hair algae, and a slimy bubbly snot type algae … I’ve been doing 20 gallon water changes every Saturday, and giving the sand bed and rocks a good cleaning, but in a couple days it seems to come right back…
Guy at local fish store told me to add Remediation…. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

I'd let the tank build up some, stop the weekly waterchanges and let the system mature. Thats just a little algae if you can, and have no coral( I assume not) you should just black out the tank for a couple of days, and it should start to die back.

So there's no algae there?
I do see a tiny bit but very tiny. He said he went though ugly stage so probably left over. If anything looks too clean to me. He is questioning the snotty looking stuff which is cyano (Bacteria) and much more of a problem than algae. It is photosynthetic as you say so your suggestion of blackout is sound. But will come back with zero phosphate. Age ole problem with zero phosphate. I get Dino’s when phosphate bottoms out.

Here's a guide to fight it. It mentions chemiclean but I would not use that until you have fought it with all other options and its getting way worse. New tanks its common and goes away after it matures and some maintence.
