Good after noon ! I'm real unhappy with my sump & I have an acrylic 40 breeder just sitting on my Garageee . I'd love to use. It would work perfectly . However my beloved skimmer is too tall by 3 or 4 inches. I want to cut off as much from the top of this skimmer cup as possible. I could easily install a drain in case it got too full. I can't see any reason why not. Do You?

The reaction space is in body so I’d think as long as you can adjust the skimmer down enough that it won’t overflow, why not!? :)

Before you cut your cup.. you might try doing a mod that makes it like the reef glass nano skimmer, I'm thinking a o ring and some PVC fittings, dont know what skimmer you have.. and have it drain to separate container? If it doesn't work your skimmer can still go back to its original configuration. Just thinking out loud not sure how feasible this is..

Ok I spoke too soon about this 40 breeder. it would fit but It's 9 inches shorter than the one I have ! I'm trying to come up with a larger refugium. actually thinking about an algae reactor. Or super charging this tiny ref with sorry light I have . ponder.png
