Resurrecting an aged post here, Im in a similar boat. Im waiting for a shelving unit to get delivered before I can setup my QT tank where I will house new fish for over a month of quarantine. I have my DT setup and ready to start cycling with Dr Tims one and only and ammonia drops. I figure I can just keep dosing ammonia the whole time my new fish are in the QT tank, right? to keep it cycled?

Welcome to R2R and the wonderful folks, information and help.
Nice looking tank,,,Patience runs long here. Slow and steady makes a great tank.
I recommend to everyone joining to create a tank build thread. 1. You get to see where you have started and how much you have grown in this hobby. 2. We love pictures and to see what your doing with your tank. 3. It’s a great learning tool for all of us to see what works and doesn’t . We learn great stuff from each other.
Lastly the only bad question here is the one not asked...

Just a little update. Sps and Lps doing great. Zoas are hit or miss. I am struggling really bad with hair algae right now. Hooked up my dose pumps last week. Alk 7.8 calc 410.mag 1350. I am slowly raising levels. Cheato is growing well. My Nitrates test around 4, point of sale .5. I feel about 1/2 cube once a day. I am concerdering dropping the skimmer for a Turf scrubber. My sump is not very big.
