Waves all! Nice to meet you all. It’s been many years sense I had saltwater tank. I also started a fresh water tank with Kribenses fish in it, and soon after I have 5 tanks full of the babies from the first tank. I’ll add a couple pictures of the cute Kringle family I have.

After all the fun I had with the Krib’s I decided to start a saltwater aquarium. I completed cycling the tank and I added 2 Tracy’s Damsel fish. Pictures to follow. Now I see brown on all my substrate and coral decorations. What do I have to do next? Any help would be welcome. My goal in the 25 gallon aquarium is adding a porcupine puffer, banded shrimp, and a green mandrin.

Welcome!

As far as the brown stuff, that’s likely just part of new tank uglies. Make sure you have a cleanup crew consisting mostly of snails. Also, be sure to read up on your stocking wishlist. For example, the puffer would likely need a bigger tank and may find your shrimp quite delicious. Also, the mandarin will likely need a bigger tank as well. Just go slow and ask lots of questions. Good luck!

Welcome !I am pretty new on this site. I can tell you I have really enjoyed R2R. Great group of people and I have learned so much in the past couple weeks from everyone .
Hey, my first tank was a 55 community tank and raised African Kribs and there fry . I would sell or trade the juvenile fry to local fish shop. So

Welcome to R2R!!! Brown uglies on sand is just diatoms, it will pass as tank matures! I also would hold of on the mandarin until you have enough pods established for him to feed on!!
