MC811US MAX pH/Salinity/Temp Monitor

1652374872073.png

Its been awile since I have been active, just taking a break from things, that doesent mean I am not still reading and watching.
This poped up and it really exites me that this is being offerd at such a reasonable price point. It they could only add a wireless intrface, it would crush the BIG controller market.
I am building or should I say collecting components for when I am ready to jump back in and this is just what the doctor orded.
Yes it does not contoll anything (yet) but I will be using Mobius for lights and flow.
Now If Millwakee can do this for $200 why is full controller $800-1000. Sign of the times? mooooor offerings driving costs down?
Thoughts?
FYI I serched for threads on this and came up w/zip

Are the probes changeable? The temp probe would rust,

This will not work for a saltwater tank, the EC range is only 0-5 mS/cm.

What is wrong with that range?

Resolution of 0.01 mS/cm is not fine enough though should be at leas 0.001 mS/cm to be useful.

5 mS/cm conductivity is less than 3 ppt so I wonder what this thing is meant for.
(((but I know nothing about freshwater aquarium parameters so maybe it's for that or something else)))

I had my units wrong was thinking needed to convert to uS/cm

This is designed for freshwater and hydroponics growers. The stainless steel and resolution are no issue for them. Milwaukee's reef grade ph and ORP is over $200 with only 2 outlets and no temperature wifi or custom programming. If you ask me spending $300-$400 for some of the basic aquarium controller offerings out there is reasonable.

You could be mislead by the thread title and first post as they state "Salinity", but when you go to the actual product it states "EC".

Wonder if the the OP made the change or if that's how Saltwater Aquarium had it listed originally.
