Hi all! New here and new to salt water. I have taken on a nano tank that someone was going to shut down as they are moving abroad. I am very keen to learn and do my very best for this little tank. I would like to ask, what are the things you think I most need? I have a water test kit on my list as a must. The fish are eating frozen mysis in the evening and flakes in the morning.

I keep seeing vitamins advertised, but don’t want to waste money on things that aren’t necessarily needed.

Would anyone be kind enough to let me know the things I absolutely need now, to keep this little established tank thriving?

Hello and welcome.
This is a great starting point to know what you need and what it does.

After that, you can use the search engine to get answers or just ask! We are here to help!

Welcome to Reef2Reef

Some of the most important things in reef keeping is water changes were you will need

Reverse Osmosis unit or a good water supplier
Reef Salt to mix for weekly to biweekly water changes
Refractometer for measuring Salinity
Carbon media and fresh filters should keep that nano very nice

Thank you!

I have all of those things except an RO unit- I have done one water change so far and used aerated tap water with tap safe. Is this ok
