1 month reefer here I currently have a 10gal nano going though the diatom phase I want to increase to the 20 gal tomorrow will this stress out my bta And cleaner shrimp? I also did a 30 percent water yesterday would it be okay to do a 50 percent change tomorrow? I want to do this but also don’t want to kill my creatures. I have no fish in my current tank.

If perimeters match your tank and you move all the live rock in there you should be fine. I Moved from a 60 to 90 with sump with little issues. Just make sure you match salinity and temperature of the water.
Awesome thanks I’ll make sure I do that

A BTA in a one month old tank is going to struggle no matter what you do.
My bta is actually doing very well I didn’t start with rodi water I started with store bought ocean water and let it go through a mini cycle before I added the creature he has moved around to multiple times he found his home and is growing great and eating

Maybe not, I'd say that's not for sure.

@Stephen8169301 you should be fine with what your doing, it could help if you have well established live rock or sand but it can still be done with minimal issues. make water temperature and salinity the same and use the same salt mix that could help your move

Ewwwwwww sand lol, idk is it nice? If it were me and it was new I would vacuum the stuff out of it and probably reuse it, its only a month it can't be to bad, and it has some bacteria and surface area in it. But that's your call it's a good time to go to bare bottom;)

Lol I was joking its all personal preference, and visual appeal. Bare bottom has its issues too and they are not great to look at until they grow in. I like the look of sand I just can't do it with a sps reef, I have a 20long with sand I like the look of sand.

That looks really nice and clean I really like sand and really like tanks and that don’t have sand so it’s tough I’m just worried when I actually put my power head in it’s just going to blow all around

depending on what sand you have.. power head shouldn't blow it all around.. depends on placement.. I have pink Fiji sand which ill never use again because its so fine but power head doesn't blow my sand around.

Assuming you cycled your one month old tank propertly over a 2 week startup period you have had your BTA for a week maybe two so no he is not growing great in that small time period of tank acclimation. It is recommended that tanks be at least 6 months or older because anemones are not easy creatures to keep. They require stability and that is something you will find difficult to achieve in a one month tank transitioning to a new tank now. I do wish you the best of luck though and please keep us advised of your success or lack thereof.

Barebottom is going to be far more difficult for a new tank or someone who is new to the hobby
I actually just watched a video saying that thanks for the heads they said new reefers will benefit from said cause it’s easier

Just be sure to add critters to move it around and eat leftover food. All you need is a little bit of sand. Conchs, nassarius, etc. are all good
