I have had this 30 gallon for about a year now and I had diatoms at the start and now I can’t tell if these are diatoms or Dino’s. And if they are Dino’s how should I treat it.

it looks like diatoms to me, but could you provide a list of water parameters in particular nitrate and phosphate ?

is there actually anything alive in the tank it looks empty ?

If you want to try a quick fix, turn the lights off for 3 days and blackout the room, curtains etc and see if that helps

if diatoms no. let them run their course. They happen in all new tanks
I have the same thing going on. My tank is 4 months old. Phosphates are 0.01 (Hanna ULR) and nitrates are 0 (salifert). They started on the sand bed and now I see a tiny spot starting on the rock work. I’m worried they will take over.
