Just noticed today that my trachyphyllia ive had for 2mos just started to bleach(or maybe just recede tissue not sure). Please let me know what you guys think and what i should do. It looks like its bleaching from the bottom. Has been looking fat and healthy and suddenly shrunk up and showing some skeleton at the bottom.

He looks like he was stung, I see what looks like a torch.
Anyone in the vicinity have sweepers?

Your numbers are perfect!
I dont think so only thing near it is that torch and its tentacles never get long enough to touch the trachy.

Mine display sweepers on some nights, the tentacle turns thin and longer and doubles the tentacles reach.

Just had to check, mine blasted an acan, 4” away.

I think the chances are good to keep the rest if you can stop the cause, I have half of one and while the receded area stayed receded, the rest extends well. You need to keep the receded area clean from algae.

So most likely the receded area wont grow back right? Best case scenario is the rest is ok?

Parameters look good as long as they are stable like that. Are any other corals showing stress? What about lighting and flow?
They stay pretty stable at that. Also no other corals are showing any signs of stress. I posted my lighting in the OP. Using a AI Prime 16HD and for flow all im using is a DC powerhead so its definitley not because of too high flow

Ok, I would watch for the tentacles at night from the torch (or something coming out at night to munch). I still don’t see the lighting listed in the OP ;)

In your opinion do you think its bleaching from light? Or more likey that it was stung by something by the way it looks?

I usually look at bleaching as a lighting issue, however in your picture it looks like it is the least light-exposed part of the coral so thinking it’s not that.
