Long time lurker, first time poster....
I am in the early stages of building out a 300 gallon (72x36x27H) SPS dominant tank with fish room. For lighting, I am trying to decide between Orphek or Radion/T5 combo and how many of each I would need. I'm leaning towards 3 Orpheks so that I don't have to mess with T5s. Would 3 be enough for my tank size? I have two cross braces at the top of the tank. I would mount one over each section, turned 90 degrees. Or would I need 4 or 5? I don't want the lights to be a limiting factor to my success with SPS.
If I went with Radions I was considering 6 XR15s with 3 6ft long rows of T5 (one at front of tank, one at back, and one between the XR15s.
Any insight in deciding between the Orpheks and Radion/T5 and how many of each to use would be greatly appreciated.
