This, for 4800 bucks you can get exactly what you want without paying for a name brand that you will prolly end up slowly modding the crap out of and are stuck with dealing with metric fittings and meh customer service.Neither, spend that money on a custom tank that won’t leak
Obviously you are jaded with Red Sea tanks as I’ve seen you post this response on two different threads. I have owned 3 different Red Sea tanks all upgrades for the last 10 years. I know several people that own theses tanks and not one of us have had a leak. Hmmmmmmm!Neither, spend that money on a custom tank that won’t leak
I really want to get a 6ft plus tank. Most likely mixed tank but more to give my fish more swim spaceWhat do you want to grow, do you really need the extra 4" on each side?, and yes, dont forget about the S-1000.
All great points! Appreciate the discussion.
I have debated going custom but think I prefer a all in one system that I can just setup; tired of diy for now lol!
As for getting G2, I don't think the new upgrades are worth it. New colored plumbing and reef mat ready sump is only notable differences I can see.
S1000 becomes to much of a jump in price for me.
Keep the votes coming! Either way, a new tank is always nice
My understanding is that the bigger red seas, 750 and 900, are both 3/4 inch thick. Both G1 and G2it's not only the red plumbing but thinker glass too. there is a page on there site where you can compare.
but yeah if it's not worth it for you then it's not worth it.
if you have a LFS that is a dealer see what kinda of deal they can give you. i bet you could get the 900 for the 750 price....maybe IDK worth asking ...
